East European Folklife Center (EEFC), a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote, celebrate, and educate the public about traditional and traditionally based music, dance, and cultures of the Balkans.
Folk Dance Footnotes, a page with excellent descriptions and videos explaining the uneven Bulgarian dance rhythms. (The American folk dance community is indebted to the work of ethnomusicologist Dick Crum, who also helped transliterate and translate many early Nevenka songs.)
FolkWorks promotes and represents artists in the folk/roots/traditional genres, and offers an extensive collection of articles and interviews about folk music. FolkWorks also has a calendar of events where performers and teachers can list their classes, concerts and lectures, and where everyone can go to find music and dance events and cultural enrichment.
RomArchive, the Digital Archive of the Roma, provides information about Romani music and culture and its influence on western society.
Ts’utisopeli, a project dedicated to the conservation and dissemination of songs from Eastern Georgia, features field recordings and musician profiles with an interactive map.
